Juan Luis Torres was a Colombian police sergeant during the 1980s. He was in possession of Pablo Escobar's file from his 1976 arrest, and DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña decided to dig up some dirt on Escobar to impede his political campaign. Torres was bribed to give them the files, but Juan Diego Diaz "la Quica" and Roberto Ramos "Poison" shot him through the chest as he walked down a street, murdering him and taking the files.
