Carlos Muñoz Portal (died 2017) was a Mexican film and television location scout who was killed on 11 September, 2017 in the town of Temascalapa, Mexico State while searching for filming locations for the first season of Narcos: Mexico.
He set out to take photographs of possible filming locations, and was found days later inside his car, with his body riddled with bullet holes.
Muñoz Portal has also worked in the location management crew for Sicario, Spectre, Mozart in the Jungle, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Fast & Furious.
